The Mobility Aids Grant Scheme is available to fast track grant aid to cover a basic suite of works to address mobility problems, primarily, but not exclusively, associated with ageing.

Is it means tested? Yes. Applicants will be assessed on the basis of Taxable Gross household income. The maximum grant of €6,000 or 100% of approved cost of works, whichever is lesser will be available to applicants with gross household income that does not exceed €30,000 per annum.
Who can apply? People who require basic suite of works to address mobility problems, primarily but not exclusively, associated with ageing. adaptation works in order to address their mobility needs.
What type of work is covered? The types of works grant aided under the scheme can include the following
- Grab-rails
- Access ramps
- Level access showers
- Stair lifts
- Other minor works deemed necessary to facilitate the mobility needs of a member of a household
Tax requirements In the case of contractors undertaking in work for the Mobility Aids Housing Grant Scheme a current Tax Clearance issue by the Revenue Commissioners must be submitted with the estimate for the required works.
