Tipperary County Council recognises that many people wish to live in rural areas in our County, and also that in order to thrive, our local villages need people to live in them. For that reason, the County Council has developed best practice guidelines to promote and facilitate the development of cluster housing schemes to meet the needs of rural people.
A Cluster Housing Schemes comprises up to 6 no. detached houses or serviced sites, providing an alternative to the construction of rural one-off houses for those wanting to live in rural areas. These guidelines provide practical advice on planning considerations when designing and developing houses in our villages. The guidelines also feature a number of case study examples with step by step instructions on how to develop a scheme. The guidelines are seen as a easy-to-use, best practice toolkit for developers, landowners and consultants alike.
