Local Improvement Scheme

Local authorities may provide support to groups of local residents and landowners for the restoration of non public local roads serving their properties. Residents and landowners must pay a community contribution to the restoration works.

Local Improvement Scheme 2024

LOCAL IMPROVEMENT SCHEME (LIS) 2024 – NON PUBLIC ROADS.

Applications are invited for the Local Improvement Scheme which applies to non-public accommodation roads. Projects must benefit two or more parcels of land owned or occupied by different persons or serve the public.

Applicants who applied in 2023 do not need to re-apply for consideration in 2024.

LIS Grant is subject to Department of Rural and Community Development funding.

The closing date for receipt of completed applications for the 2024 Scheme has been extended until Friday 09th February 2024 at 4.30pm.
