Household Food Waste Regulations Enforcement

Local authorities regulate domestic food waste disposal to ensure the waste is suitable for composting.

Household Waste

Household waste management and disposal is a priority for the section and further details, of areas where a three bin service is required, list of civic amenities and waste management bye laws.

The number of households in Tipperary which have a bin service is 26,928. This represents over 45.59% of the county and continues to grow and the local authority is encouraging households without this service to avail of a bin service to help eliminate the dumping of household waste across the county.A segregated waste collection service is provided by regulated private waste collection contractors. A 3 bin waste collection service must be provided such as:

1. Brown bin for organic waste

2. Dry recyclable bin

3. Landfill bin/general waste bin
