Notice To Landowners And Occupiers Of Land Adjoining Public Roads - Hedge Cutting Season 2024/2025

NOTICE TO LANDOWNERS AND OCCUPIERS
OF LAND ADJOINING PUBLIC ROADS

ROADS ACT 1993, SECTION 70 ROADSIDE TREES, DITCHES AND HEDGES

From 1 September 2024 until 28 February 2025

Tipperary County Council wishes to give notice that under the terms of the Roads Act, 1993, Landowners and occupiers of lands are obliged to take all reasonable care to ensure that trees, shrubs, ditches, hedges and other vegetation growing on their lands are not or could not become a danger to those using a public road or to somebody carrying out maintenance or improvement work on the road.
Examples of hazards include dead or dying trees, ditches or hedges interfering with traffic, blocking footpaths, obscuring road signs or obscuring the view of the road ahead. You are required to fell, cut, log, trim or remove such trees, ditches and hedges.

INTENTION TO CLOSE ROADS TO FACILITATE QUEST LOUGH DERG 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that Tipperary County Council proposes to make an Order closing:
ROAD TO
BE CLOSED Closure 1: The L-6090-0 Lakeshore Drive, Ballina, Including parking spaces adjacent to Flanagan’s on the Lake

Closure 2: Graves of the Leinster Men, Ballina, Road from Derrybeg to Cloneybrien to Cooneen.
L6036-0, L2136-26, L2136-0 and the L2136-10 and the L2136-21

PERIOD OF
CLOSURE: Closure 1: Ballina
From 06:00hrs to 18:00hrs on Saturday 21 September 2024.
Closure 2: Graves of the Leinster Men Road
From 06:00hrs to 13:00hrs on Saturday 21 September 2024.
ALTERNATIVE
ROUTES: Closure 1: Ballina
full access to the Lakeside hotel will be available via the L-6090-0 from 11.00hrs onwards from the R494-31.
Closure 2: Graves of the Leinster Men Road
via the Grange Road / Curraghvilla the L2130-0/15 or Legane / Killary the L6035-0 / 18 or Cloneybrien the L6038-0.

REASON FOR CLOSURE: To facilitate the Quest Lough Derg Event.

Objections to the proposed temporary closure may be submitted in writing to Road Closures, Roads & Transportation, Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh not later than 12 noon on Thursday 29 August 2024 or by e-mail to roadclosures@tipperarycoco.ie
