Three key Actions from the LGMA Climate Action KPI Report

This report presents the findings of the 2023 Climate Action Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for local government. The findings are presented under the themes of mainstreaming, mitigation, adaptation, and internal behaviour change and capacity building.

• Local authorities understand the risks of climate change, and they're adapting accordingly.  The sector was implementing 2,488 adaptation actions in 2023
   
• As part of their actions on climate change, local authorities supported 554 businesses under the Green for Business initiative last year.
   
• As part of their actions on climate change, local authorities retrofitted 2,445 social housing units across Ireland last year.
