A series on Tipp FM sponsored by the The Heritage Office and Heritage Council exploring the origins and history behind the place names of some of the towns and villages in the county.
Running over 10 weeks , the series will delve into the archives such as the Schools Folklore Collection, talk to the experts at the Place names Commission and talk to the locals on the ground about how their town or village got it's name. Researched and presented by Mary Ann Vaughan it promises to be a fascinating insight into the story behind the name.
The first three episodes are available as a podcast series on the Tipp FM website or you can tune in live for the remaining episodes on Mondays at 9.45am.
