Section 11 of the Building Control Acts 1990 to 2014 grants powers of inspection by authorised persons (Building Control Officers) and facilitates the inspection of buildings to promote compliance with the Building Regulations.
In order to promote a culture of compliance with the Building Regulations, the document below has been created to raise awareness of common non-compliances encountered by Building Control Officers during inspections of dwellings / works to dwellings.

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list and it does not cover all potential non-compliances with the Building Regulations. Responsibility for ensuring full compliance with the Building Regulations remains with the Owner, Builder and Designer of the works.
